Intimacy: Purpose and Its Divine Powers

Intimacy. Most couples in relationships would tell you they have an intimate relationship with their partner, but how many of them if asked to define and describe it........would they be able to? Would they be able to tell you the purpose of Intimacy between them? More importantly how is it achieved in its most authentic state?

As human beings when we meet someone, we either go one of two directions: Fight Or Flight.

"Fight", meaning we put up walls so high and strong that no one would ever be able to break through or go over the wall because it is there to protect us. Memories of our past experiences are etched in our core being like soldiers in the fore front ready to defend against more hurt. Fear becomes the enemy. Silently killing the soul. Like blood to our veins, intimacy can heal the most damaged wounds and renew the spirit.

On the flip side we soar high into the sky taking "Flight" letting the wind take us to the heavens above in a state of bliss. If we fly too high, we can also miss the gifts of Intimacy because euphoria can create illusions of happiness. Once the feelings of heavenly bliss has worn off, it becomes like free falling from the sky without a net. There is nothing to hold on to so we spiral down to oblivion where we do not recognize one another. Growing so far apart, nothing holding us together.

So then how do we give birth to and cultivate Intimacy within ourselves and each other so that we may be blessed by it. Feel it's energy and Love the way it was meant to be:

The singer/songwriter James Bay has a song titled Hear Your Heart. The main chorus goes like this:

"And i just wanna lay you down, your burdens, all your fears...........And I don't need your deepest secrets whispered in my ear.......cause i can hear your heart, I can hear your heart"

When we create a space of trust through empathy and understanding................ Intimacy can be born. Taking the most precious part of us, our heart, and giving it to the right person who can hear, feel and know its journey up until now is a gift in itself. Trust breaks down the walls and all things love flows like a raging river that was waiting for its time to be unleashed.

Like a flower that wishes to be the most beautiful among many, it needs the right soil, water, and sunlight to bloom into its beauty. Too little or too much and neglect it will never grow into its full potential of its beauty. Those that feel the need to "Fight" have to find it within themselves to be vulnerable to be able to give as well as receive.

Brene Brown describes Vulnerability as:" Our Most Accurate Measurement Of Courage And Willingness To Show Up And Be Seen With No Guarantee Of The Out Come"

The stories that may have been filled with the worst of pain, shame, unworthiness are the walls that keep us from the truth that we are worthy. By allowing all that which is in the darkness come into existence; the ones that are close to us are able to touch it and pour light into it. Intimacy then becomes the gateway to connection and the foundation of growth and depth in the journey between the souls. It is what sustains and binds two people together in harmony. Free flowing in Love.

There is freedom in being seen and heard. We then are allowed to become the best versions of ourselves. Become who we were meant to be by deep connections from those that allow our stories to be heard and felt from the heart. Intimacy then becomes more than the physical as many come to know, rather it becomes something within us always present stretching our capacity to connect with the universe in the most raw and unclothed way to uncover and reveal light and truth through eyes that see clearly now. Once our eyes are open to the gifts of Intimacy you can never close your eyes again to its beauty.

We then are in control of our story and go down a path that is purposeful and meaningful all the while still holding on to the lessons of the things that drowned us out and pinned us down for so long not realizing or knowing what it means to be free. What it means to let Love do its job when we have faith even though fear tells us to stay safe.

We all have choices in life. I believe that there are no accidents in life. God puts experiences and people in our lives for reasons unknown to us and it then becomes our decision if we go down the unknown path fearing the outcome or we run the other way because we also fear the outcome. The thing is if everything was easy in life; there would be no growth in our existence. It then becomes a choice to open up to the lessons and blessings from the unknown:

This is the Power Of Intimacy in its being. Strength, Courage, Acceptance, Self Worth is in all ways true.

Life is short. Accept nothing less than what will propel you to the best version of yourself through authentic connections of love given by others around you and know that it's not the destination that is important but rather the journey in getting to the destination that counts most. For it is within the twist and turns, up's and down's that life takes you on that leads to self discovery from within.
